Reviving a
printing past
Situated on one of the City of London's main thoroughfares, 160 Queen Victoria Street recently undertook a major refurbishment. In it's past life, the building was the headquarters of The Times Newspaper. This provided the starting point for an installation of custom, typographic panels, that spanned across the reception back wall. This creates a unique, subtle texture that slowly reveals an assortment of letters, numbers and symbols that honour the building's past legacy.
Inspiration was taken from traditional letterpress trays that housed collections of print characters ready to be arranged for production.
